How long would it take to complete:
Small bathroom renovation...
- Remove fixtures
- Gut
- Minor improvements to plumbing & elec.
- Sheet rock/dense shield
- Tile [complete shower/bath area; 1/2 wall on other areas]
- Finish and trim

Bath is on the 1st flr of a SFH and there is a 2nd full bathroom available.

Not "How much?"...but "How long?"

BTW....I'm doing the work

Now before you place your bets, keep in mind the 2nd flr renovation [total gut job; small dormer addition; bedrooms and bath; windows, roof and siding] took 6 years.

So, how long until the wife stops speaking to me?

Forget speaking after the
first week.

You will have made
"alternative sleeping arrangements"
at least 3 years before completion.

Take as long as you want. The silent treatment will start in about a week and then all will be nice and quiet for a long time to come. You should have thought of this sooner.

How long would it take to complete:
Small bathroom renovation...
- Remove fixtures & Gut 10hrs. That would include taking out built in bath, shower, toilet, double basins, cabneits, Tile from floor. 12hrs if tile is being removed from wall.
- Minor improvements to plumbing & elec. 12hrs. This would include moving some pipe work, a couple of sockets and re-routeing some cables, Fitting new service valves ready for 2nd fix.
- Sheet rock/dense shield 10-15hrs with making good.
- Tile [complete shower/bath area; 1/2 wall on other areas] 30hrs depending on tiles size and pattern.
- Finish and trim 5-8hr for second fix and tidy up and get water back on.
But this all depends on what gear you buy. But i would guess 10 days without looking at it.

Finished?
As in done?

Well, on Monday all the permits were closed out...everything passed ....

BUT....

...there is the "punch list".
Unimportant stuff.....like a railing in the stairs....maybe a door on the MBR....

How long it takes may depend on how long you can do "without":whistling

Good Luck with it!
We went w/o the 2nd flr bathroom for 6 years and counting ...it's been complete [actually 100% done] for over a year....but it's so nice no one uses it

I average on 5x8, 6x8 about 3 1/2 weeks.

Nothing usually goes as planned.

My kitchen has been 1 year. tore it off and started over. Just got it painted, and getting ready to start milling the flooring. Should be done some time NEXT year.

Good thing the old lady can't cook. She does whip up a good pot pie in the microwave:laughing::laughing:
