Good thing they didn't put multiple wires up there. No telling how much of the joist would be left or how many brick cantilevered.
how do you like this shoring solution?
In my house, above this joist, there's a floor to ceiling bookcase and the joist next to it was completely cut to make room for a heat supply register. A few brick scraps precariously cantilevered, notched up 2x8... sounds adequate! Wonder who thought this was a good idea.
