So I am bidding on a contract to repoint a brick home that is located directly on a busy city sidewalk. I am thinking that I would put up scaffolding and have a tent that extends from the top of the house to the sidewalk. My concern is that when I would be grinding out the mortar joints that mortar would be flying all over the place and potentially hit people and cars that are still outside of the taped off construction area.

is my tent idea the best idea to do or is there something better?

Hire a commercial scaffolding company to set up your site . Buy a tuck point grinding system . Hooks up to a vacuum and dust is cut down.
