People put the silliest chunks of metal in concrete pours thinking they are doing a stroke of business. The most useless IMHO is chain link fence. While initially it seems great, the reality of it,the fence is not taught enough to do anything but get in the way. The steel never gets into tension + they put it dead center in the pour. Probably the most useless place for steel in concrete.

First guy I worked for put VO bottles in the hearths.
Jeez, I hope he emptied them first...:whistling

On another note: Last words heard from Jimmy Hoffa: "Yeah gotta get home and mow the yard"...

I've poured a slab and noticed I didn't have enough concrete so I ran around looking for rocks and chunks of metal to help fill it up. I guess the lawn mower was close.

Model A axles and a bed frame. And the old timer must have mixed it 50/50 because I bid 4 hours with a big electric breaker to demo the old step. Got nowhere and had to run back and rent the air compressor and real hammer. Broke even on that one if I was lucky.
