Here's a good one

My buddy sent this one to me, the building is a rental with 4 units. I guess the landlord is a cheap ass and hates putting money into his units. I have never seen anything like this! Thought you guys might enjoy the craftsmanship... or lack of!

There isn't any stagger in the shingles, right? Lol
Keep looking! You'll find a list of stuff
Obviously the valley and no pipe boot. Is there more?
There's a pipe collar there, one of the floppy ones. Looks like they went right over all sides of it when they so precisely threw those shingles over the old ones.
It looks like the shingles are stacked right straight up the roof, no offsetting at all?

Lol That's just so stupid wrong .
hes not cheap enough to realize he just threw all that material in the dumpster and will have to do it again.
Did the guy hand the owner several 5 gal buckets when he was done....

B,
Ugh...landlord work so often sucks...if you're that cheap and don't want to put the money into it: SELL IT! That's my advice more often than not...
I'm not sure if that's as much cheap as it is stupid. I mean how much more would it have cost to have it done decently. It's not like he put 3 tabs up there and covered flashings with tar. I'm not saying it doesn't seem like this guy wasn't hiring the cheapest guy he could find, but I think a lot here has to do with good ole fashioned stupidity.
Apparently the h.o. did it himself. He's real cheap. I'm surprised he's got tenants still l I've heard the interior is as hacked up as the roof. He owns a few other properties that I'd like to check out
Looks like it was some kind of patterned roll roofing.

looks like something from Sketchup to me:blink:
I once did a roof tear off where the former "roofer" had installed valley caps. Yes, you heard that right, valley caps. They did put a nice coat of tar underneath them to somewhat seal the valley though

The more I look at it, the more I wonder what that crap even is? It looks like sheets of something.
They have instructions on just about all shingle packs, in two languages, with pictures for the illiterate!
I'm not calling bs, but I refuse to believe someone would do that.
