We use one all the time for cabinet scribe, toe kicks, and crown, never used it on quarter round, but don't see why it wouldn't work. Might not need paint touch up, but it does still leave a small hole.
Well even if I had to paint rather than putty, that's at least a little time saver. Over time could add up I suppose. Thanks again grizz :)
I see lots of guys use them and not fill. It would be okay if it was not close to eye level but as mentioned it still leaves a hole. Depending on the material and/or color, you very well would need to fill. I like to.

When we do stained cabinet trim, we typically don't do any filler, and usually don't even have to hit the holes with a stain pen, however, that's a dark trim usually, and white or light trim would show the holes more.
Honestly, the GC Im contracted for now wants to purchase one for the carpenter to put the shoe molding down, his idea is to save me and my crew time (3600 sq ft, new shoe throughout) its a really nice thought, but the trim is white against new hardwood (crazy I know), I was thinking it seems like a waste of money, but hey, Im not paying lol.

The grex 23g is the one to get if you don't want to leave any marks. The Bostich leaves a tiny bit smaller hole but it has no rubber foot so it dents the trim.

We have a hitachi, have to be careful though, cuz there's no pressure safety, just a double trigger.
