Hi everyone, just was wondering if anyone have used this tool made by Malco. It is used for notching out the inside part of the J Trim . Does this tool save you time and is it only for 5/8 J Trim or can it be used for 1/2 " and 3/4 " also? They seem to be quite expensive ($83 ) so was really wondering if its worth buying. Thanks Rick

i used one on a job a few years ago, seemed like a good idea but not the extra $20 over a pair of malco snips, simply saves one cut

alot of guys rather cut the fold then bend the tab of hte j into the peice above, i use to do it but ive found i end up fighting with the peice of siding that gets notched into the window or j trim because it makes setting it in the p channel harder so i simply cut the tab off
