We're breaking ground on a small office building and our site superindentent brought up a point I hadn't thought about before.

The back of the building will have 150' of 6" K Style gutter. He asked if it needed expansion joints. I would think it does.

Do you guys put expansion joints in long gutters? At what length? Is there a specific method or a premade joint? From a quick search online it looks like there are a few options.

TIA:thumbsup:

150' back of the building which im assuming nobody will see id but two 75' gutters up to eachother with a small space and make somne sort of cap over joint and wouldnt even bother with an expansion joint . A lot has to do with the temp at the time the gutter will be installed. Weve done 200' runs on a local warehouse 15 years ago and they are still perfect with no issues at all. Weve also done 100' gutters that kinked in a few spots due to expansion issues. The darker colors more likely to have issues anything over 125'
