Grabbed a few rolls of this for a big deck repair job. Doesn't seem much
different then their ice and weather shield product. What am I missing?
Thicker mil? Stronger adhesive?

Less material, more money. That's the only difference. Oh, and it comes in a narrow roll so you don't have to cut strips from the ice and water. Clever marketing on their part.

It's non-skid.

I use regular Vycor fwiw.
