got called out to a stair rehab job. they took out the steel and put in wood. wanted me to put metal handrails (1.250 pipe) in. had some existing I could use material from. about 60' of rails all together. the inside rails need to be continuous up 4 short flights of stairs. the rest on outside as needed. I told him $1400. He said that was a bit much for less than a days work. Maybe I'm too dang slow, but I was figurin 2 full days to do them to my satisfaction. thats a lot of cuttin and mitering around them corners. been there done that.

been there done that, now let him go there do that, send pics.
He'll probably be calling you back after he shops around, unless someone's really desperate.
Sounds pretty reasonable time and money wise.
I kinda hope they do call me back. Over 20 of these to do total

I would say that is very reasonable. They obviously have no clue.

I think it's the same story the world over....those who don't have the skills to do the job will never recognize the amount of work done by those that do.
