Can anyone recommend a good deck software? I know the $30 Punch! software is junk, but I don't won't to sink $2,000K either. I would like to be able to import photographs. I'm not so concerned with having a product that will give me nice technical drawings or BOM. I'm mainly want to use it as a sales tool for clients. I'm breaking into a market with some 5,000 & 6,000 sq/ft homes and need some visual software to pitch some impressive designs.

Spend the money on something specialized then. I use AutoCAD, but the DeckTools software looks to be pretty impressive (and not cheap).

There is a program that will allow your customer to see your design on a picture of their house, just can't recall what it is.

Hi, I'm new here, but I use microsoft visio.

it has a building stencil, it's quick to set the h,w,d of a board, etc.

I was able to draw from scratch (just to test myself) a 1/4" scale deck in about an hour. It's not for presentation, it's for the permit/inspector.

if you want the cosmetic one for customers , use the free ones that HD/timbertech etc use to draw their estimate. (at least for starters)
