Usually the tape goes straight onto the fingers.I'll use the cheap brown cotton gloves on cold mornings.Two bucks for the gloves and five for the duct tape to keep them patched.

 

I have a roll of finger tape I use, but I bet I haven't sold 10 rolls in the last 5 years.

 

The cotton with the latex palms are the best gloves I've ever used. I could wear out a pair of cheap Chinese leather gloves in a day and for less money the latex lasts me WEEKS. They also have insulated ones.

 

Yes, they are nice. We get our's "free" from one of our suppliers. They always have some type of "trinkets for the Indians" when they're delivering materials.

 

...plus the dextarity is 100% better. I could never wear a leather glove and lay brick.:thumbdown

That'll work,I tend to wear out the left one and have an overabundance of rightys.

 

Five years ago I bought several different kinds of gloves and gave them out to every one. We all seemed to like the cotton gloves with the black dots. When you buy a case of 20 dozen it comes out to $ .56 a pair. If we get one day or one week out of a pair it doesn't matter.

In madison wisc, and assume in other larger cities the have retail stores, Items donated to H.H. and they resell them cheep. I buy cotton gloves for about .25 a pair. thay allso usally have all kinds of safety stuff (safety glasses 2,00 same as HD for 11.00)

not to mention ton's of construction supplies

 

I get them for free, so that isn't an issue. For everything but laying pavers, I wear no gloves or brown jersey, but the white cotton ones last longer (with or without tape).

 

I can't drive by a job site with masons working without stopping and giving away toys. I have line blocks, red carpenter pencils, line pins, and hats (plus racy calendars). Most of the convenience stores in Austin have our pens on the counter as well, just because they never have pens and I always do. Twigs are getting scarce as gimmie's, though, the cement companies are cheaping out.

Personally, I can't wear those blue gloves; they make my hands sweat.
