A prime example of manmade just thrown out there not knowing how it will hold up at all. Bad batch,I would like to see a good batch.

The caryon thing...I wonder what happened to that sales rep, he even said to get a wax stick at homecheepo for the really bad ones.

That's a lot worse than one I looked at. This guy bought his in 2005. Geodeck must have pumped out a lot of crap decking if they were making "bad batches" that long.

Geodeck's insurance money ran out before these folks could make a claim too, they were offered more geodeck tho.:laughing:

That 2nd pic, could be the posterchild for composite decking. Long live wood, especially ipe.

I believe there's a class-action against Geo for this... It seems like they sold the company and under-funded the claim bucket...

If you can get the customer some $$, it might make for a stronger sale.

On a side note, that's a radical railing! Is it sturdy?

I should send that pic to the guy at a lumberyard years ago who was trying to tell me geodeck was the best. I knew he was full of it so I never listened. They said "we dont deal with CX, but this geodeck is better..." now that is funny.

I never liked the GEO and I'm glad I didn't after walking on this deck. They are not sure what decking they want yet. I will give them some options. I did looked at a deck last year that had Evergrain decking, what is pretty good but not the best but it is also a lot lower in cost than most other ones. The decking looked great but the railing fell apart, especially the sleeve covers. You could grab chunks of it with your bare hands. Weatherbest had also similar problems. I have installed the CX from CorrectDeck for the last 6 years and never had a call back.

I've got GEO deck and it is doing the same thing. Called the company and was told that the origional company sold their name to another company that now markets a supposedly different product under the same name. This "new" company will not warrent the old deck product. The old company had a class action suite against them but you had to file a claim by 2006. My deck wasn't falling apart in 2006 so I had no reason to be looking up class action suits at that time. Long story short, I'm just out one deck.
I think the current GEO deck company is just a bunch of sleasey arsholes. I always tell potential customers to stay away from any GEO product.
