I'm a young contractor. Been contracting residential gas piping for about 5 years, and I'm looking to expand what I do. I have a fair amount of knowledge of water heaters, and am just wondering if it is the next logical step in expanding my business. Any opinions?

In our area, your licensing determines what you can do. As a mechanical contractor, (HVAC) we do a few water heaters, and all our own gas pipe. If I had my choice, the plumbers would do the water heaters. Most of our work is retrofit and very little new construction, so that might make a difference in your case.
