Too many times I have been in a hurry and forgotten to shut the garage door, or don't remember if I did. I have found a few devices/apps out there, but wanted to get some ideas. I don't want to replace my whole system, just buy an add-on.

Thoughts?

I purchased and installed the Chamberlain MyQ unit. Took about 15-20 minutes. Was a little disappointed in the instructions and the part to see if my existing unit was compatible.

But all is well. I want to figure this out
With the app, you can set a few parameters and if the door is left open for a certain amount of time during the hours you select, you will get an alert.

I agree there could be a bit more on the instruction side of things.

The alerts I just played around with until I got it setup the way I wanted. It's pretty straight forward.

I build garage door control into almost all my installs.

I do not, however use specific products for garage doors.
