Haven't been in Lowes other than the tool dept in a while. Happened to pick up a few boards today and noticed there having a deal where yo can trade in a pair of older or lesser quality groove joint pliers for a pair of 8" Irwin groovelock pliers.
I have a couple pairs of those. They are okay, but I like my Channellocks and Kleins better, so I end up lending the Irwins out. Every single time I give them to someone to use, they can't figure out how to adjust them with the push button.
I've got a pair of small channel locks around here somewhere that I inherited on a trashout. One side is busted so I've never used them. I never through broken tools out, I always find some need for a "disposable" tool after I get rid of something.
The store local to me run out in about 3 days. Crazy thing was there were nice knipex, channel locks, bahco etc etc ones in there! Why would you swap that china junk for quality ones? Most were junk ones though.
