I am currently finishing up framing up my basement and I am doing the bathroom now. I had the plumbing roughed in when they built the house. My question is "How far does the wall need to be framed up from the center of the toilet drain?" I have heard that you need to frame up the wall 12 inches from the center of the drain but I just want to make sure before continuing on? Thanks

Minimum 12" 'finish', - - in other words, - - minimum 12 1/2" to the framing, - - I always go 13" to the framing to play it safe.

You would go more accordingly, - - if you're 'adding' anything to the surface of your 1/2" drywall, - - like tile or wainscot or similar.
