I worked a site some years ago that the foundation guys got way ahead of the rest of the construction crews.
The poured in place walls and slabs were left to Winter over. The builder threw straw in the foundations to protect the slab and footings, some made it through just fine, others did not.
One item they did overlook was the foundation walls. Uninsulated, the frost penetrated through the walls and froze the backfill. They lost a few walls that ended up being pushed in by the frost. It was pretty cool to look at, the foundations had frost like a deep freeze on the interior walls....6" thick.
The past few Winters have been mild, as long as we don't get a prolonged cold spell, you should be ok. But it is a risk...
