I am purchasing a property. it is a two level home around 2000 sq.ft with slab foundation. The slab has wood column around 8" wide and 8 feet apart around the perimeter of the home and wood column are also used for load bearing Walls inside the home. I would like to know what kind of foundation design it is and if house is considered a permanent structure. House was built in 1986 in VA suburb.

Probably a pole barn type of build.

Most places, if it has a foundation, it's a permanent structure.

You say it’s a home. Is it a solid slab? What do the houses around have? Same- different. Is it a pole barn w/concrete around perimeter only
