hello to all,
Anyone out there using or have used the older foley belsaw planers. My father had one which also had a rip saw on the infeed side. It sit in the weather after his shop was hit by a tornado and he gave it to me right before he passed away. It is in need of a complete restoration which shall begin possible this winter after deer season ends. He made a bunch of custom cut blades that he used to make molding and such and he used the mess out of it when he was building cabinets and stuff. I have restored almost all of his other shop equipment, (Delta table saw, bandsaw, jointer, etc.) and this is the last piece to do. Just wanting to see if anyone else has used this type of planer before.

Sure....never for the added saws or moldings but yes, they are great planers. I have a 718 with all the accessories, and have never used them, including the sanding drum. I use it as a planer. Wish I had bought the 24 inch model instead, and left the accessory package off.
