while i admit those kreg horses look very nice i doubt they would hold up being used by a crew.

i've been using the trojan horses for many years. couple of pieces of 2x lumber and you can create many size horses.

while not very fancy they are also incredibly strong and durable.

i have had several sets where i cut the legs and added some angle iron to make them adjustable for uneven ground.

for the right guy the kregs are pretty cool, but i'll stick to the trojans.

I was that close to pulling the trigger on these, but those metal feet are deal breakers for me. They would tear up a hot composite deck in no time. But they are exactly what I want. Maybe I could put wooden feet on them?

Those Kregs look cool, but a bit much for a simple sawhorse.

I have MFT tables if we need to get all clampy an such.

I love the Stanley FatMax folders.

I have like 8 sets of them.
Simple.
Lightweight.
Adjustable feet for uneven surfaces.
2,500lb capacity.
Slots for 2x's.
(and you can just cut through the plastic if you are a real savage.)
Haven't burned through a pair yet.

I've always used the Trojans myself as Iv'e had a set from when I started in framing some 16 years ago. They're awesome saw horses no doubt, but have been looking for something else and those Kregs seem pretty sweet. Very utilitarian and great for doing more of the finish type work I do mostly these days. Think I'll check em out.

Great, another tool I didn't know I wanted or needed till I saw it!

Although I like the Trojan's for their simplicity, and the fact you can just use scrap lumber, their biggest downfall is the non adjustability. Someday I might build a pair that are adjustable as Griz suggests doing. Always seems like the ground is uneven to me??

I snagged a couple of these from HD for half price and although they are not perfect, they are the best I can find for "me" on the market today. There are holes on the top to screw 2x4's onto. Fully adjustable, and with rubber feet they won't damage a nice deck...like my own redwood deck! When breaking down sheet good I use them for a cutting table.

I've got a set of those Toughbuilts for when I need to work on bigger beams. Nice to be able to drop a 6x10 on them and not worry that they'll fold like the plastic ones.

I've got a set of the Trojans, a worn out set of Dewalts, and a fairly new set of kobalt from Lowe's.

For heavy duty durability you can't beat the Trojans.

I really wanted to like the Dewalts for their compactness and portability, but they don't have a wide enough stance, and are constantly tipping over on uneven terrain. If space is a concern they are great though.

So far the kobalt horses seem pretty good, not that heavy duty, but have a good stance, adjustable legs, and have 2x4 slots to make a table if need be.
Time will tell as far as durability.

I haven't had a pair that a helper hasn't beat the crap out of. I used to like to get the ones with the extending arms until 2 guys ran saws through them full depth and made that feature useless.

I picked these Stanley ones up from my lumberyard in a pinch a few months ago, I like them so far

I haven't really invested much money on saw hoarses, actually i recently bought my second pair a few weeks ago.

I use these resin one called blue hawk or somehting similar to that. I got them at lowes, they have a slot on either end to put a 2x on the horzontal and then you can put a sheet of ply or whatever on top. Theyve been great to me for at least my use. The second set i got are husky brand 23 bucks i cant complain they are doing there job. The bluq hawk ones i have i believe are manufactured by stanley. Rona sells the idential set only with stanley brand on it.

We have a lot at work but my favorite is the Menards/ Masterforcs metal ones. Put a 2x4 in them and they are ample strong.
They are currently at our warehouse project and they are one of or catch all tables for stuff like paints and sand paper but I’ve seen them hold a hundred 2x4 as a cut table.

Just saw these port a mates at the farm store this morning. Think I'm going to pick up a pair soon.

Metal, Folding, provision for a 2x4 on top. priced at $39 ea at the farm store.

Downside for you is the hollow metal legs have cheap plastic plugs that will likely disappear on day 1. You'll have to improvise something to make it safe for deck use.

If my Kreg folding work table is any indication, the Kreg saw horses will not last long riding around in a trailer or on a jobsite. Too many little plastic pieces.

I have Trojans also, love them. Whatever 2x you use needs to be free of twist though.

I counted up 20 pairs of various styles of saw horses in the shop last week.

i've had that pair for several years and never had a problem with the feet. I'm looking for another pair, where did you see them for $ 39.99?
