My framer and I laughed at this pat on the back. It's pretty easy. Mark, cut (freehand on the table saw) and install. Like I said, basic stuff, not a huge accomplishment.

Nothing to see here, he's mastered it and he has his defenders, so your questioning the master Griz...probably is going to say it would cost the customer too much.

I've done that work in old houses, it is tedious and you need patience. You also need to start it out right with a laser, to figure where you need your height to be, so it all works out at the end without any huge F ups..

I've seen jobs where someone attempted to level a floor, and was a cluster f&@#. Started in one place, got to spot B and now the two floors are an inch and a half out. Rip it out and start over..

So good job with the shims.. another vote for glue and T@G, I will mention..

I will admit that it is a pain in the arse to cut them. But it's just monotonous and mind-dumbing, not complicated.

If you go back and read my OP, I just said what is there to master here. You guys decided to turn it upside down. As usual, I get the blame for responding to responses.

I come here and put good topic and expected technical comments. Just a few usual clowns highjacked my tread, like always. And that tread about bankruptcy is for you a joke. Where only I stand out from 40 creditors. You are man that I would count at if would be war. F clown.

Well, I guess it's time for me to weigh in. Big website. Lots of variety here. In skill level, experience, intelligence, English fluency, where we came from and what we had to go through to get where we are, etc; As well as in our personality types.
I am new here, so not completely familiar with everyone just yet.
I have enjoyed translating tipitop's posts, as well as the light hearted and usually humorous ribbing they engender. But man, this one was rough. We could probably do a little better than this if we tried.
Your words are extremely powerful. They can tear down, or they can build up. I thought this was a place to help build each other up. If that is true, the tone of our replies can either help or hinder us in achieving that goal. You can be right, but wrong, at the top of your voice. I can't think of a situation where calling someone a joke will edify them or anyone else at all. Sounds like high school on this thread. Which is fine, just depending on what the point is of our community.
Personally, I am a fan of HELPING those less fortunate. There are many ways of doing this.
Calling B.S. for what it is can be helpful.
Sandwiching CONSTRUCTIVE criticism between encouragement is another. ( and usually goes a long way in helping your criticism be received.)
Sound advice is helpful.
Referring someone to proper resources is helpful.
But bashing, name calling, tearing down only without offering solutions, tit for tat exchanges don't really help anybody. It does make one think twice before posting, which might be viewed by some as helpful. Personally, I enjoy the entertaining responses to the more basic questions, and the light hearted ribbing makes me smile.
I joined this forum mainly for entertainment anyways. It was only after reading through so many of the articles that I realized just how much I had yet to learn.
As quoted from one ancient text:
" any man who thinks he knows something knows nothing yet as he ought to know."
And this coming from a self titled Construction DR.
Alright. Rant over. For now.
Can't we all just get along?

Sorry, but if you worked with a guy for 7 years and they run their mouth all the time you wouldn't have an issue calling them a joke. When they tell you the same story several times over the years looking for attaboys and pats on the back you would roll your eyes and leave the room.

It's the same here. The new guy might see the eye roll and turning their back on someone as an insult and un-necessary, but you don't have the context. I don't give a rats ass about giving tipi any constructive criticism. He doesn't listen, doesn't care and will go on and on about it. Look up his coping crown thread or the bankruptcy one. You will find a pattern.

Like in construction and contracting there isn't a whole lot of coddling and massaging. Take it or leave. Do it or don't. Drop the purse, take off the apron and get to work.

I can give you the phone numbers to my guys.

I can also give you the number to the Health dept at my daughters school. Had a meeting with them today. They stormed out after I said that I would keep interrupting her if she was going talk crap and lie.

However, I am a bit different in person. Not softer, just more aware of your reach when I do say something.

Wow Rob!!

For a thread that I never posted in, ,my name has been dropped a lot here in the last few pages.

For what it's worth, I have always been somewhat of an instigator. I am one of those guys who will blurt something out that seems funny, but at the same time can be a biting critique. It often takes awhile for the meaning to sink in, and by then someone else has picked up the torch and run with it.

TNT, You're absolutely correct, but I think what Tipi is saying (emphasis on think since who knows what Tipi is really saying) is that there are cases where people/companies take advantage of the bankruptcy laws. When I was a kid my father's company took a six figure hit from a client who had a habit of subcontracting out big jobs, collecting, paying his family and himself a huge salary, then bankrupting the company leaving the subs holding the bag. It's the reason I couldn't go to college and we almost lost our house over it. So yeah, there are legitimate bankruptcies that allow a person to get back on their feet, but there are also those that are opportunistic scammers.

Them TNT you. I disclosed proof in bankruptcy tread and it get deleted. At another hand I show you guys ugly true. You live in matrix. Have no energy nor money for supreme court. Now is stage of reporting this case to all news stations in world to rest of my life.
District court did move this time. Decision is from 5/16 and I get letter 5/24. So it give only 6 days to prepare appeal to supreme court. I didn't stand chance.
