I have an existing central basement floor drain but I want to install an additional drain (6’ away) and closer to my high efficiency furnace so I can directly drain condensate /water. Planning to connect into the existing drain with a wye or tee directly above the p trap. Does the wye have to be located just above the trap water level (A) or above highest level of the horizontal exit pipe (B) ? See attached drawing?

I don’t have a lot of space below the finished floor grade to move the tee/wye up in the assembly, so I may have to abandon the plan if the below is not appropriate.
