I had my first floor job yesterday...and it was pretty cool. I set the boards while bossman nailed the floor down. It was a 12 x 12 room. It was a good experience and I look forward to doing more floors.

A square room is the perfect place to start. Take your time, and learn all the different tricks and techniques, before you take on more advanced jobs. I would recommend that you find someone locally with hardwood flooring experience to help you, just in case you find yourself in a pickle.
