Client wants this groove filled in because it is a trip hazard.

We're guessing if we just clean it and fill with concrete it will break up and pop out.

Can you suggest a material? Maybe a pourable epoxy topped with sand?

Some type of non shrink grout would probably work fine until it can be completely redone.

I'm guessing it's a drain channel, so it will probably get hammered with water.

You could also call steel supply places and try to find some grating that will just drop in.

Actually, now that I'm looking at it.

I would push for a grate in there. Buy the narrowest off the shelf grate you can find that isn't too small. Chalk a line on one side or both sides to make the correct width, run a floor saw up it set to the dept of the slot. Knock that sliver out with a hammer, then drop in the grate and call it a day. Half a day's work tops.

Those things look nice. When I've finished accidentally breaking all my wood handled ones (got one left!), I'll start buying those. For gray shirt use only!
