started as block foundation and fireplace. turned into 20 tons fieldstone to cover blocks. all stone was picked up on the property. with exception of flagstone area under wrap around porch and 2 ps mantle 3ps harth

Looks really good, and saved yourself some cash finding the stone.
I did some on the base of our kitchen wall, as there was rising damp in the plaster and the lime mortar joints helps it breathe. Like you I found all the stone, but doesn't look as good as yours.
What mix did you use?

mix and money

was not my cabin just did stone and blockwork for owner who balked at price for picking up his own rocks untill i halfed the price $100 a ton sounded reasonable to me as i was gonna use my pick up truck we agreed on $1000 and used his kabota with bucket. half bag type n masonry and half bag portland in every mix.
