Facebook Promotions Ideas

First off I'd like to point out I have "liked buttoned" everyone linking their Facebook page to this GREAT FORUM and for the most part I really did like your pages and for those that have liked mine thank you.

I just got over the 100 mark (I'm at 108) and it's only been 9 days, many of which are related to this site and many are organic, friends of friends, ext and that is what it's all about right? WOM in a modern sense.

I've noticed a couple things floating around promotion wise, mostly just informative articles and maybe that works... does it? By works, I mean working to increase leads from the Facebook page.

I am not necessarily interested in posting " how to's" in the form of links to magazines, ect. but real in house promotions and what has worked for you fellow Contractor Talk Members?

Here is my First Facebook Promotion.

I joined several FB groups that are centered around specific towns. Many encourage introductions, so when I join I post a link to my biz page. I haven't done promotions, but I do link to interesting articles. I get alot of positive feedback.
btw, I just liked your page as myself, then as Artisan Remodeling as well.
Any advertising is great advertising. I get a few calls a week because someone found me on facebook. Nothing should be overlooked in the world of business.
Thank you guys. 4,300 views and no other comments? Crazy.

Out of the gutter and roofing business, easy sales getting into my "calling" of carpentry building chit I'm really at a loss getting these new leads to flow in. Aside form the mantle build I'm doing that is it for interior trim work for now, so I, like the other 4,300 viewers are interested in the same end result- work from FB so lets here some healthy contributions.
I like the idea, I am doing the same thing, but I put my stuff behind a fangate, you have to like the page to get the promotion, its not open to just anyone who comes
Roofcheck, I like your page. Just started mine a couple of weeks ago too. Trying like hell to get my name out there and get some more work. I've gotten two calls from people who have seen it. One for a kitchen and one for an add a level. Now to sharpen my pencil and hope for the best

The issue with FB is that I have nearly 300 page likes except any posts that I don't pay to "boost" only show to around 100 of them.
100 would be a third, youd be lucky. FB is only showing about 15% I believe.
I just had a post about two hours ago I out up and it's been showed 78 times so far.

Facebook is fading out as quick as it came in. People are finally realizing they just don't care about everyone else's life as much as they thought.

Ive got three leads from my fb page this year. None have turned into work.
Um.....maybe luck? Beginners luck? I just started my face book page Thursday. Already 100 likes. Went to look one job yesterday, one today, and a pretty decent phone call tonight. All first heard of me through Facebook. Granted, I can't sign a contract until my license number finally comes in the mail, and I know nothing is guaranteed until a contract is signed, but they are definitely leads....come on CSLB, send my chit!!!!!
I recently started listening to the Social Media Examiner podcast and the online made easy podcast with amy porter field. Both podcast together were like a light bulb going off. We are currently putting our inbound marketing plans together and preparing for our future.
That is mainly because facebook is like pinterest in a sense. It's not serious clients there. If you post some pictures and get a lead... it's not necessarily that they want work done. They just want to know how much the picture costs

Any content/marketing firm that wants to charge to post to fb and twitter for you is draining your wallet. Overall, it's still worth some social buzz but by far, not a main focus like last year:rockon:

Remember when all the marketing people were saying Facebook was going to be a major player in SEO?

THEY WERE WRONG!

I may be last on the FB bandwagon but unless the FB logo everywhere and I mean everywhere has become so much of a constant in your mind it is everywhere and people are receiving from it, ask Ohio Hone Doctor.
