Exposed collar ties

Howdy,

Just got a set of plans for an attic renovation. They are calling for a vaulted ceiling with exposed collar ties. Any tips or tricks for the drywall to wood transition? I don't imagine mudding up to it would work well. Cut it tight and caulk it?

Cut it close & caulk it, it will flex
We wrap a small pc of hemp rope and use brass tacks. Allows for movement.

Tear away leaving about a 3/16" gap and caulk it shut

Wrap them with something appropriate (rough spruce or cedar) leaving a small gap - caulk the gap with an appropriate flexible caulk.
Thanks. I like the tear away idea. The rope idea sounds pretty decent too, maybe a little too rustic for this design though.

Tear away will be nice and clean buddy and the caulk will allow some movement.
