I tried to sign up for everycontractor.com twice now and neither time did anyone reply to me. What gives?

I've got money to burn on marketing, and everycontracor was part of my business plan. I guess they don't want my money. Anyone have any other similiar experienceS?

LOl I'm sorry I said everycontractor, but I meant "NEED"contractor. I guess I said every contractor because they are totally the opposite, high pressure always calling. I spent a half hour with the guy from every contractor on the phone telling him "If you cant tell me how many searches you have for chicago roofing per month I can't give you my money."

I tried to sign up with needcontractor from your site's banner twice and nobody has called me or emailed me.

when they first popped up, about 2 years ago or so, they talked with the NGPP and offered us hangers a discount rate for a website. They wanted $1200 to build it, and I think $40 a month to maintain it. I laughed and said no way. I was able to talk them down, I agreed to pay $600 and no monthly fees for a year. I also stipulated it should look good, as she showed me a couple of their sites, which opened with some flash/splash and guaranteed mine would be comparable. Well after they built it, I laughed even harder. It looked like an 8th grader did it. It was terrible. So I didn't pay. Damn near had to go to court to get them to go away. Then when it came time to re-up the registration for my domain name, they wanted to charge me $150 to do it, or wouldn't give it up. It took calls from my lawyer to release the name to me, which was stated in my paperwork that I owned it already.

They still call me, trying to sign me up for aan overcharged referral/lead resource. I again said no way. They decided to email me some leads to show me what I would be getting. I got several email leads, all way off base. Mind you, I hang wallpaper and paint, these leads were for everything from laying drain tile, to pouring concrete for a bus stop.

They must have a high turnover rate with staff, everytime I had to call them, the last person I spoke with was 'no longer with us', and had to deal with someone new. They are nothing but high-pressure salesmen.

To those who may think everycontractor.com is a joke. I work for that company and have for almost 4 years. The thing that people misunderstand, is that we are not a lead brokerage company. Our company is not interested in buying and selling job leads. We are interested in having these customers contact contractors on a 1 to 1 basis. So if certain companies are looking for more leads, we aren't the company. If your looking for more exposure on the internet and customers dealing with your company, that is our company.

Your still ajoke regardless. I've heard nothing good about you guys, and all my dealings with you guys wern't good ones either.

Your staff can't explain your system to me, all they can give me is high pressure sales lines. "We have alot of work in your area, sign up now or we'll have to give it to someone else!"

It's funny that you say you are not a lead service. You area lead service, you just use a directory and allow the customer to contact us. I don't see the difference between the customer contacting us directly or the customer requesting contractors contact them.

If you say "if certain companies are looking for more leads, we aren't the company." Why else would we give you our money if we wern't going to get more work out of it? Oh you answered that. "More Exposure". Well if more exposure doesn't get me more work, it's a waste of my money.

Maybe you guys should open your eyes and realize that your target market isn't happy with your services.

I don't understand. You did a submission on our site, three times. You were contacted by people from our company. So I don't understand how you can say that you were never contacted. As far as I understand, there was no high pressure sales, but of course we have a membership fee. Every company that I know of, does. The difference is, we don't sell jobs. So, I think you were more disappointed in the fact that you like to buy jobs, but we don't do that. So, if you got 1 lead or 1,000, you still spent the same amount of money.

We are talking about everycontractor or need contractor? I am talking about everycontractor. If you read a few posts above you will see where I corrected myself http://www.contractortalk.com/showpost.php?p=8321&postcount=3

I did a submission only once at everycontractor. I'd like to see proof where I filled out the form more than once. I didn't say I wasn't contacted, please read http://www.contractortalk.com/showpost.php?p=8480&postcount=10 . I said my questions wern't answered by everycontractor.

The high pressure comes in from a well crafted sales approach, the same many home improvemnt companeis use. Ofcoarse you didn't see it if you wern't one of the people I spoke to on the phone. I saw the approach coming a mile away, and was grinning waiting for the salesman to try and close. As soon as he did I told him I need stats. He said they don't have/give stats. After a few minutes I was transfered to someone else. I told him the same. He told me that he couldn't believe I would throw away all this work for only $295 a year. He then tried to "break it down to the ridiculious" and said it's less than $6 a week. That's also called funny numbers. Long story short I was transfered again, and I hung up on the third guy when I told him they can't give me stats I am wasting my time.

I wasn't dissapointed in the fact that you don't sell jobs. My multiple sites are listed in many directories through out the internet. I was upset in the fact that your sales people were boasting huge business but couldn't back it up with numbers. How many people search for my services in my service areas? If you can't answer that you don't get my money. It's really very easy to track these numbers. I know every hit I get on my web site, how many pages they view, how long they stayed, what the referring site was, blah blah blah. If you can't track how many people look for roofing in chicago or windows in chicago, you have problems.

Your company uses the same approach as the phone books... and the phone books are a dying dinosaur. Less and less people are using them and of my colleagues that I discuss advertising in depth, they are getting poorer and poorer results every year.

I applaud you guys trying to get contractors more business but your sales approach is what is a real big turn off for me.
