We pour pool decks that range from 400 sq ft to 2000 sq ft. Been doing business for Over 10 years using shovel and wheel barrow method recently using buggies when able given conditions. Our crews range from 8-15 guys depending the job and amount of work. Does anyone use concrete pumps or any other equipment to reduce the cost of having laborers?

I will use a concrete pump anytime possible....

Get it where it belongs as quickly as you can....

IMO, just not worth fooling with any other way....

If $$ are that tight bid it different or find another job...

We all ways pump. Way faster and cheaper than labor. You can pump clear over a house too.
This is a 95meter or 311ish feet pump.

A tow behind pump is like $700 and you can continuously unload the trucks as they come instead of wasting time waiting for buggies and wheel barrows. The only guys you need are rakers and finishers and one guy to run the hose.

Use it whenever you can, just remember to add the cost to your estimates.

It really isn't too much more though when you figure on paying less guys, plus it saves a ton of effort.
