Hello;
I've been researching BIM software and would like to get input from people that have working experience with RECENT versions of both programs. I'm aware of other threats on this issue but most of them date several years back so I deem them no longer accurate. I would like to hear pros and cons for both from people that have either worked with or done an extensive evaluation of both packages. Your input is much appreciated.

This statement about the watered down version is not true.

Envisioneer and Chief both have pros and cons but both are fully functional programs. I have used both programs extensively and finally chose Envisioneer because of its roofing capabilites and ease of use. Working drawings and superior as well and the material takeoff is beyond comparison. Chief did have better visuals but I needed production work and found Envisioneer better at the nuts and bolts.

OOOh

I am a designer and as envisioneer is quick and easy for a quick view it has many limitations.
It has many issues with graphic card drivers.
If you have a problem they dont seem to know you exist.
Depending on what u want to do I think stay away from envisioneer unless its cheap.

Revit LT is half the price and just as quick but not the show.
Cheif is Good too
