Typical, depending on state requirements, and requested involvement around 2K to 3K a month.

Can you explain how you came up with that valuation? It seems wildly inaccurate unless you are saying 1500 to 3000 per month PER STATE

So are you an employee of an electtrical contractor that works in all those states and you are the qualifier? Or are you shopping your services to other companies?

 

Yes, an employee. Not farming out the licenses to multiple companies

 

Ok, then you get the going rate for a master electrician. Whatever. You think being a qualifier in multiple states make you special?

 

I am trying to have a conversation with licensed master electricians. It looks like you focus on residential kitchens and baths and have no business in this thread. Are you a licensed master electrician? If so, what states?

 

So you're qualifying an electrical contractor that has operations in 12 states? I would ask for $200k per year as you're clearly the lynchpin for the entire company.

 

How can one guy cover multiple jobs in 12 states regardless of the size of each state
Part of being a qualifier is to monitor the work performed not sit at home and play video games 24/7
Now why would any company put all their eggs in one qualifier basket that way when a qualifier falls out it does not leave them scrambling looking for a multi state qualifier

 

Thank You Sunkist! My question exactly.The Qualifier is responsible for the work being done with his license. Even if he is smart and sets it up so the he is an employee and therefore not liable for business losses or suits against the business, he is still liable for the work completed under his license. I spent 3 days sitting in DPBR Hearings and saw several men who used the “I’m only a qualifier defense” get slapped down and charged high fines and license suspensions. Qualifiers need to visit all of their sites a minimum of once a week if not more.

 

As far as fees, I have a flat rate of $1,800 a month for the residential contractors and a percentage rate for commercial guys. I often negotiate things like apartment complexes, strip malls, ect because these guys are usually here until the job is over and gone to the next job in another state.
