I'm gonna be putting in hardwood floors, transitioning to tile/stone at some locations in the house.

what is the advantage of using a double plywood subfloor, and how thick should it be. I'm not going to be using radient heating. Is the double ply-sub a way to acheive flush transitions between flooring material?

thank you,

nick

What is your subfloor?

How thick is the hardwood?

How high is the tile?

So if I understand correctly, if you nail down the 3/4 hardwood on the subfloor, it will be flush with the tile?
