Does water softner cause a closed system?

Does anyone know if a water system causes a closed system much like a PRV does? Just wondering,Thanks

No reason,just wondering thats all.Lets just say a it was installed in a garage with copper pipes,No prv installed...does it create a closed system in the water pipes of home,,,,just curious thats all
