Charge time is the biggest issue with the larger ah batteries. I think the Dewalts take 1.5hrs to charge. With some of the newer tools that use a lot of energy it could be tough with a 1.5hr wait time.

If your using it that hard it's time to drag the corded version out. Runtime on the 4ah is amazing, charge time isn't an issue when battery life is measured in days instead of hours like the old NiCad.

It's not about all about the tools that we have now with 5.0ah it's about new tools that couldn't be cordless and have good battery life. Also, it seems like many of the basic cordless tools are getting very very powerful. 500ftlb impact wrenches from Snap On and 1,090 inlb drill from Makita. These tools are power hungry.

Cordless chainsaws, lawn equipment, bigger saws, etc. are things we are starting to see and 5.0ah batteries seem to make those tools all more feasible for extended use.

Break out the cord...I think we use cordless because breaking out the cord is what we want to avoid.
