decking

i have built a timber decking without planing permission as it is more than 12 inch's off the ground i need it. is there any thing that i can do as the council have sent me a letter about it

You mean that you already have a deck built without a permit?

Council = local government? About all you can do is humbly ask them what can be done. They have the authority to make you rip it out, and fine you to boot.

Just pile dirt up around the deck so it is just 12" above the ground.:party:

Jesting or not..sometimes it is easier if your fairly close to begin with. Call a landscaper.
