Despite having done this before I have stuffed up removing a memory battery from one of my dashcams by pulling the negative trace off the M/board. Doesnt seem to be anything of the trace left to solder to.

From left field would it be possible to run a wire from the neg terminal of the battery back to the neg leg of the power socket where it enters the m/board. Camera is still recording minus date and GPS.

Trying to save $200 for a new one because of a $3 battery stuffup

Would try it but havent got a new battery atm

Thanks for any help

Maybe, but maybe it kills it , too.

If you can examine the board and establish they both get connected to a ground trace, then yes.

I bought a $50 dash cam from blueseasky and it work great. Does not have a built-in screen, only takes pictures to the front, but its big bang for the buck.
