I'm a flooring contractor.
Iv'e done every thing there is to do.
But making a ebony stain job continues to be a coin toss. Ive tried every proses i can think of but none of them im happy with. I can do a stain job that can make the custmor happy enuff to pay 95% But that isent good enuff.
So i decied that i would try to finde some one smarter than me.

And the queston is what processes do you use? Pros/cons?

The process I use is to go take some formal training from the NWFA. Even if you know it all, you will walk away with something you never knew.

I have not taken the NWFA course.
I'm not so ignorant that i think they don't have any thing to teach me.
But every one I've met that has taken the course can barely install laminate.
All thow it could be the gene pool in my area.

The only thing i haven't tried is the satellite buffer block. Witch i cant see working better than the Trio. The Trio was a good theory but unfortunately it was designed by the same engineer that made the pontiac Aztec.

You make it sound as if there is only one class.

The beginners class is just that.

I'm talking about the sand & finish classes, not the installation classes.

the only way to offer a solution is for you to present a problem..

what is the probelm you are having with your stain jobs?

I can tell you right now, lose the Trio and square buffers...

I imagine you ARE GETTING HALOS or picture framing?

uneven tones?
