Chop saw with a metal cutting blade, and a good set of ear muffs.
Set up a stop for cutting large numbers of studs the same length.
Rental places generally put a new blade on for each time a saw is rented, and if you're a good customer, they might let you have a pile of halfway used up blades.

(I haven't always been the lawn guy, I've disguised myself as a carpenter a few times)

i've had good luck with a porta-band....not quite as fast (or loud) as the chop saw but this tool is overall more useful and worth buying if you don't already have one.....nice thread on it down in tool world...

good luck!

There's a reason successful commercial drywall contractors use a metal cutting chop-saw. It is to make me deaf and burn holes in my clothes.

Eh?

This is what I do, so I have to agree with the majority and say chop saw, but if you have you can also use a gas power saw, like the saw's tile roofers use, with a metal blade, works just as well.
