Got a customer that not only wants the subs to sign a release form but he's also requesting all employees that worked on his job to do so.
Any ideas?

I'm in Calif, and he is requesting that all my employees sign a non condition lien release.
I thought hourly company employees didn't have too go thru this.

What kind of release form?
Is it a waiver?
Is it a non condition lean waiver?
By signing do you give up your rights to file liens if you don’t get paid, I seen this in a contract before, i didn't sign it, I told him, only if he signs my new revised contract, my contract is pretty good at making the playfield even, if you like I can post arbitration rules when there is a conflict with two parties with separate contracts

Anybody who did work on the property, or supplied material can sue if they don't get paid. Sounds like the guy is really trying to cover himself.

Not sure where you're located. Here is the law in California:
Who Is Entitled to Lien ........................ 3110-3112
Conditions to Enforcing a Lien ............... 3114-3118
Amount of Lien ................................... 3123-3124
Property Subject to Lien ...................... 3128-3131
Priorities ........................................... 3134-3140
Enforcement of Lien ............................ 3143-3154

When I was on the second season of Donold Tumps show the “Apprentice” me and all of my 8 employees had to sign contracts
My employees have to sign contracts when we do prevailing wage jobs too
Which episode were you in? Did you get to show your company name on the show?

Second season, renovation of condos in seaside heights NJ
It was a pretty cool experience
Home depot shut down the store at 10:00 to let us shop
Then the BS started, shoving cameras in my face asking my opinions on how the crew is doing
I ended up telling them to go f themselves, LOl it was a funny site,
I was tired, it was mid October, hot as balls, and we had been working for 9 hrs on a custom frame in town
When I was approached by a rep from the show he asked me if I wanted to work overnight on a movie seen, it wasn’t until after we signed the contracts that we found out it was the apprentice show
We where their until 7 am the next morning
Anyway myself never was shown on TV, my guys did though
Too be honest I was hitting up this one hotty, shes a knock out
Hope my wife doesn’t see this post

Brian”head dude in charge of task” if you’re out there, I told you just change the toilet sets and put on a fresh coat of paint
Its Seaside heights NJ, No one cares about the renovation of the room ,it’s a resort town, focus your efforts on something else
If he had only listened to me he would of won the task LOL ediot
Sorry I’ve been holding that in for a few years, didn’t know the outcome of the show until 6 months latter

Blackmail occurs when a consumer threatens to leave a poor review unless they receive a benefit to which they are not entitled. However, be cautious: threatening to denounce the reviewer to the authorities can be considered blackmail. Any consumer has the right to write a review of their experience, especially if it was negative and they wish to express their displeasure.
