I have a customer that I switched out a light for, he has a hodge podge set up. Someone added a side box to a single box that happens to be too close to another double switch box. Plates need to be oversized as well for another reason. Distances between switches vary, except for 3 & 4, in a normal box. The only thing I can see working is two oversized double plates cut in the middle.

I grabbed sectional ones, I haven't looked at them look long to play with them. I can't see a way to adjust them though...

I thought those sectionals were just for making/configuring different/odd ball combinations of different type yokes in standard spaced boxes.

Replace the boxes in the wall.
Ya know.... Sometimes we look so hard to find some miraculous solution, we forget the actual obvious/simplest....

Take out some sheetrock, rewire it, and repair the rock..... although that does present the problem if the runs have to be extended....
