I'm curious what construction costs are in other parts of the country. There are obviously lots of variables when building a house, and probably more so when you look nationally.

Here in Denver, you can build a decent new custom home for $150-$175/s.f. I think the tract homes go up for closer to $100/s.f.?

A new addition could cost $200/s.f., but those numbers are all over the map.

What do those numbers look like elsewhere?

I just read elsewhere in the forum that pricing questions are taboo...ooops! Please disregard this post if that is the case.

I just spent the last couple days crunching numbers and thought it would be interesting to hear from other contractors in other parts of the country what kind construction costs they see. I'm not asking what peaple make, if you're anything like me it's next to nothing!

The square foot system does'nt make sense to me for building, too many variables to have a set sq ft price to build. My 2 cents.
