When water comes through a ceiling. You never know what you are going to find. This is DWV copper drainage tubing, it drained a kitchen sink.

The only time I saw copper this bad was when it drained away from a toilet -- and the people were peeing in the john and not flushing it at night. After about the 2nd user a trickle of pure urine would take out copper in the same say. I don't feel that urine was draining from a sink.

House was built in 1964.

Anyway I replaced the line with copper.

Take a look!

I see that with k-sinks and copper about once a month....its very common here. I believe its due to age and the use of dishwashing detergents. Nice pics
