Yes, you should always have a contract if you don't want to deal with the problems that come up especially when you don't have one, including, but not limited to :) (lawyer talk), getting paid the full amount for your services. This is a good start, but you will want to contact a construction attorney familiar with the laws in your area to tweak these forms for your particular business and state.

The longer your in biz the longer your contracts get.
Only use a contract if you expect to be paid for the work you perform. You may find someting under the file swap here on this site.
Would you kindly add your location to your profile?
No contracts, min. 50% deposit, pay cash you save tax

Then, that would make it an insurance policy.
Try contractors forms.com I use it and like it very well. I thought it was alittle expensive but it was worth every penny.
I found the "socrates" contractor forms at the local office supply store. It seems to have alot of forms and has 4 different contracts. I have modified 1 and it has worked great for me. I used to make up my own but this looks alot more professional. The price is pretty inexpensive also.

Good luck

My Dad has been using the lamest contracts - so vague, no small print. Recently I've started working with him and plan out revamping everything. I checked out some of the sites that were mentioned above but there is not much for Mac. Does anyone have any good recommendations for construction software for Macs that would include contracts?
