I am from Central WA. I mostly do residential remodeling, with some home repair stuff mixed in to fill voids in work and bank account.

I second that.

it must have been a lonely night that I was endlessly surfing the net when I came upon contractor talk. I've been forever changed.

What I have learned and already knew has been reinforced by contractor talk:

everyone in the trades in sort of angry and trying to out do one another

some of you need to get a hobby besides working and hanging out on contractor talk

sometimes someone tells you that you are wrong, you check contractor talk and find out you were right, because that how all the pro's on contractor talk would have solved the problem

some of us rather look at tools on line than porn

I shake my head in disbelief and laugh out loud when everyone makes fun of hacks and the pro's from craigs list.

what would we do if eveyone was as intelligent, witty, proffesional, and has as high quality standards as the pros on contractor talk?

We would all make more money, our stereotype would be elevated above used car salesman and the customers would not need 35 estimates to find the "right" contractor.
