I still haven't started my geodesic dome...problems with the title company and an easement. I originally planned to build a basement under the 2-story dome here in Tarpon Springs, Florida... on very high ground. Now, I have to re-position the basement/garage. This allowed me to keep the lower level all above ground. This causes me to re-think what I will build the lower-level wall wiith...concrete block (filled with grout), or frame. If I go with frame, I would have to use pressure treated, because Florida termites love frame houses. Is it going to be significantly cheaper to build with PT? Does PT warp and twist as it dries out...or any other problems with it? If it is only going to be a couple thousand cheaper, I'd rather stick with my original plan to use concrete, because I think the re-sale value would be higher. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Keep in mind that I am doing all the work myself.
