When I was framing I preferred the 'stick' framing nailer. When framing, I hate coming out of a working groove to go to the table and get a coil. Much quicker to slap in a rail or two. I always had a nail bag dedicated to nail rails. Coils are bulky. In my experience, they both jam up. But maintenance aside it has always been my preference to use the 'stick' nailers.
I use paslode Impulse guns so I can only use stick nails, I got rid of all my air nailers to much of a pain draging 200' airlines around never mind inconsitant air preassures and airlines freezing up in the winter
