Ok, I know this is a stupid Question but where is the Thermostat in a Chevy G20 Van? I can't get no heat, my heater core seems fine there is no coolent coming out of the vents. But I get no heat. I think my Thermostat is bad, and is stuck open. What do you guys think. I am not a mechanic so I am just guessing here! Please help if you can,
Thanks,
George

Most likley your thermostate is at the top forward part of the engine. Follow The primary (top) hose off the radiator, at the engine it should attach to a small housing bolted to the engine. Several smaller hoses may intersect at that housing also. Remove hose and housing, the thermastat looks like a dounut cought in a brain splint. Put the thermostat in boiling water, if it doesn't open up, it's bad replace it, if it does, that isnt your problem.
