Morning guys,

Looking to see what the general going rates in central Florida (I’m in Volusia county) are. I’m not sure how it happened but over the years the stores I’m subbing from lulled me into low end apartment carpet and vinyl because “nobody else will do it”. I’m done. I miss installing big commercial carpet tile/lvp jobs, tile showers/floors and wood. I haven’t done much in the last 5 years. What are y’all getting for labor on showers, wood, and tile floors?

What do you need to charge to be in business to cover your costs (including your families needs, schooling, health benefits, retirements, saving, etc.) to make it worth it for you? THAT'S the question you have to ask yourself.... NOT what someone else makes/charges in your market...

Then you have to go about finding the customers that can support what YOU need to charge to be in business... just as one metric as an example, if one guy is happy with $40K/year and another wants to make $75-$100/year, then what each charges is going to be necessarily different and so will their customers that they're serving...

You're seeing that now with low-end apartment install... they can't support what YOU need to charge to be in business, so you have to start finding and selling to customers who can...
