cement board as shower pan

I am new to this forum and new to the tile trade 39 years ago. I know that this is not the place for advertising. I have figured out a way to use cement board as the shower pan. I will be attending the "Total Solutions" conference in San Antonio in Sept. given by the NCTA and after that I will be using this sight to PURCHASE advertising space and with that display the website link so anyone can check it out.

My question is :

I wanted to know if anyone has seen a post that discusses the use of CBU INSIDE the shower AS the pan.

Try the search feature at the top of the page. It works wonders.
Your question that if doing something cheaper is a good enough reason to do so,my comment is
some of the clients that I work for their whole budget for the bath is $5000.00 some of you may call it foolish for me to do their work, I call it ministry. They just can't afford to pay more. So, with that as a backdrop, I do think doing a shower for less cost is a good enough incentive to find the alternative that I have found. I WILL make it public and take the shots in Sept.

If cheap is your objective, wouldn't it be cheaper to buy one of those fiberglass shower pans for about $50 and then you don't even have to tile it?

My guess is that his "idea" failed and he chose not to share it's results.
